Lebor Gabala has participated in the digital edition of Barcelona fashion week, 080 Barcelona Fashion, presenting today, Wednesday, October 27, his proposal California Dreamin’ SS22 in digital show format and in a streaming broadcast through the page gateway website.

The chosen setting has been the vaulted patio of Casa Corberó, a space in which the architecture is a true work of art. Lebor Gabala has been inspired by the story of the song California Dreamin’ to create his next journey through the SS22 collection. Just like John and Michelle Phillips did with California Dreamin’ – when they had not yet formed the group The Mamas and the Papas, they wrote this legendary song in cold New York – this collection was born during the “winter days” and the nostalgia for the good weather and warm atmosphere of California. With it they travel by car along the West Coast of the United States and are inspired by the silhouettes of the seventies and their casual-chic style. Prints of huge flowers and psychedelic motifs in striking colors that give a lot of rhythm and movement to the collection and express a happiness typical of the sun and the sea. Dresses, skirts and shirts in viscose, silk and cotton voile.

We also find a vintage touch and a nod to the hippie movement and the eternal summers in Ibiza, recovering the same openwork point of tops, dresses and tight skirts that they already made in the beginning.

As a novelty, they have incorporated organic cotton in the knitted series, maintaining their identity and tradition. We find sweaters with digital prints that recall the flowers on dresses and intarsias with sunsets. The beach and the sun, more present than ever, in the comfortable and fun “rizo” series for sets of shorts and sweatshirts in vitaminized colors. This summer, Lebor Gabala exudes joie de vivre.
